Week One!!!

Don't worry, I'm not going to be counting this deployment out in weeks...but it does feel good to have a few days under my belt. Jon seems to be doing well & has moved locations a few times already! He, his men & their gear all made it safely to their destination. We thank you for all your prayers so far & know that you will continue to lift up these Marines. Life in 29 moves on, although much slower since Jon's been gone. I'm doing my best to stay busy, but as anticipated the nights and weekends are the most difficult. I take comfort in the fact that this can be done, I'm surrounded by women who are on their 4th, 5th & even 6th deployment. Wow, that's a lot to think about. I'll be thankful if I make it through ONE!
At moments like this you think...where is my husband when I need him? Last night, after letting Baker out for his evening potty break, I closed the screen which I don't usually do...but we had just gotten it fixed & the temperature is finally dropping into the 80's at night. Come to find out Baker was not anticipating the screen & ran full force into the door. The funny thing was he was more embarrassed than anything...poor dog didn't know if he should go on inside or stand out there with me while I ripped it from it's hinges. Glad to share these moments with you...
