Good Fences...Good Neighbors

We have yet to introduce our wonderful neighbors Bobby & Melissa...who have become some of our closest friends & greatest encouragement here in 29 Palms. We share many things with Bobby & Melissa: our love for the Lord, one wall of our house, the desire to have green grass, the love of our crazy dogs, the roses that grow in our yards & countless other things that amaze us daily. We consider them to be a huge blessing in our lives & one of God's many provisions for us here in the desert!

This Sunday we finally tackled the fence project, and with the much needed help of Bobby & Melissa, the project took less than 3 hours...thanks to two strong Marines & a water pick!

Melissa works hard holding up the post with one hand & sipping Riesling with the other. We decided to connect our new yard with Bobby & Melissa's yard...we told the guys it was for the dogs, but really it's more for Margot & Melissa.
We proved to be a vital element in this project, drinking wine & encouraging our husbands that the fence was coming along nicely!

What's your opinion of The Mending Wall? I'd love to know what you think about that quote: "Good fences make good neighbors." My class just read Frost and I am pumped up on poetry now!
