jon & margot update

We apologize for the lack of recent updates, it's been a busy month! I spent a week in Maryland watching Clayton & Carter, while the Davis' enjoyed a long weekend in the Bahamas...thanks to Brian & Meredith for a great week and a free trip to the east coast. I was able to tack on a short trip to North Carolina after my time in Maryland. I enjoyed a week in Greensboro with the entire Humphries clan, something that doesn't happen often what a GIFT!!! Upon my arrival home to California, we welcomed Jon's parents (Carl & Linda) to the desert for a long weekend.
It was such a treat to have mom & dad in the desert, we were able to show them so many things that define our life here in California: base housing on Upshur Avenue, the USMC base & training grounds, our little base chapel, the Marine Corps. Exchange, the Officers Club & of course Joshua Tree National Park! Thanks again for a terrific weekend together...
Baker continues to grow and at 9 months is right at 95 pounds. He loves to beat the California heat in his kiddy pool! We've gotten some encouragement from friends & neighbors, that he's a good looking Lab with a great personality...we're looking into his STUD potential, but we'll keep you posted!
Our sweet neighbor Robert (almost 3) continues to be our faithful gardener.
We continue to be amazed that things do actually grow in places like this, in fact our roses are doing quite well & have now had their 2nd set of blooms this season. Praise the Lord for things that GROW!
Jon latest & greatest project is finally finished, just in time for deployment! This 83' Honda motorcycle has been hours of entertainment for my husband and now serves as our second mode of transportation! We realized early on that California's eternal sunshine & rain-less days make it a perfect place to have a motorcycle!
Look we've decided to open-up our very own dog kennel...no not really, we couldn't afford the marriage counseling. However, last weekend we did watch 3 of our friends dogs while they were away. Our backyard which usually holds Baker & Brutus (the Williamson's dog) now had 2 Pugs Abbey & Bubba, as well as Zoe a Jack Russell Terrier...not to mention the American Bulldog Gunny who slid under the fence to play!
