Happy GroundHog Day!

We are really bummed that we're apart today...Groundhog Day is one of our Favorite's, forget that fact that we've missed both our birthdays, an anniversary, Christmas, Thanksgiving & Valentine's Day! Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow this morning, which stinks for all you east coasters...today is one day I'm ok with living on the west coast. Six more weeks of winter means nothing in Southern California! I wore flip-flops to the Super Bowl party last night...

I am however reminded each year of the movie "GroundHog Day" and awesome 1993 film starting Bill Murray. In the film (Murray) is forced to live the same day over & over again, which encourages him to ponder life's purpose. Jon & I both have had some serious time to reflect during this deployment, we honestly feel that we have been given a rare gift that most marriages may never see or experience. What does it mean to truly treasure your spouse? Do you loose sight of how precious they are when you see them every day? What if you never got to wash their clothes, make their dinner or pick-up their piles...would those things still seem like a burden? What if we could live in light of the fact that everyday with our spouse is a gift...

You are so right about treasuring our spouses everyday!! Deployments are hard for anyone and you are a very strong woman. I am so happy you have just 8 short weeks left. I do miss living on base in 29 Palms...such a wonderful place to be for a first deployment.
