Missing Dad

Well, I've begun to count down the days until Jon returns to Virginia (16) and it seems I'm not the only one who's eagerly awaiting his return. Baker enjoys sleeping on top of Jon's boots, when he's away. They say there's no one who, loves you quite like your dog and I believe it, when I see little Bakers face buried deep in our Marines smelly boot! I've begun to decorate for the Holidays, finish my Christmas shopping & wrap-up our responsibilities here in Virginia. I've been thankful for how settled we've felt even after living here for only 4 months. It's been nice that our last season on the east coast has been the fall, not only is it my favorite season but I believe it to also be the most beautiful. Jon & I have said that of all the challenges we'll face as we move across the country, getting used to the desert topography may be the most difficult. You all will have to send us pictures of all the beautiful changing season, we won't have in Southern California.

PS - Noa says "oof, oof" when she sees Col. Baker. I think she will really like to play with him when she meets him.
