From NC to CA in 5 Days

Baker was ready to leave long before the car was packed, much to our surprise he was an excellent little traveler & gave us no problems along the way!!!

Jon was the driver & myself the navigator...it took 5 days, 2700 miles & 46 hours in the Camry.
We stopped in Nashville, TN and spent out first night with our dear friends Janna & Paul Roper. After Jambalaya & a great nights rest on the air mattress we drove the Oklahoma City, OK. There we stayed with a fellow Military couple Eric & Anna Miller who are JMU alumni.

As we headed into day 3 we made a stop at the BIG TEXAN a roadside steak house that will give you a 72 oz. steak for free if you can eat it in under 60 minutes...we opted for a more manageable 12 oz. piece of Texas long-horn. Albuquerque, NM was home on night 3 and we enjoyed some amazing Brazilian before making our way to Tucson, AZ. Little did we know that Tuscon is home to the "classic cactus" although impressive for it's size they only grow in that particular part of Arizona. Glad we didn't expect them to be waiting for us in 29 Palms, what a disappointment. Our final day of driving brought us through an amazing local brewery where we enjoyed lunch & a quick pit stop before heading to San Diego where our sweet friends Seth & Laura Nicholson and Julius & Carey Milani welcomed us to the West Coast with red wine and spaghetti.
