Seven Months & Already Counting Down

Jon left for his first deployment today: it was quite emotional for me & very exciting for him! He's been training for this purpose for the last 20 months, and we've known this day would come for a while now. We are both feeling very confident as we enter this deployment, it was the good-bye that we dreaded.

The process takes close to 6 hours, but thankfully they loaded the bus right on time.

It was really wonderful to get to be with Jon for each part of the day leading up to his departure, even though he didn't leave until 10:30...we were able to spend some quality time together as he gathered his gear & mingled with his Marine's families.

Many thanks to all our friends & family who prayed so faithfully for us on this day...and who are continuing to pray as we enter this next season of life. May God be Glorified through this deployment!

Hey Sweetie,
We loved the pics of the final few hours pre-deployment. It is always helpful for us to see your world. God Bless you both.
Love you: Momma,Daddy,Rex and Sheba

hi margot, i was just catching up on your blog and my heart goes straight out to you. i just wanted you to know i'm thinking about you and praying for you. i know i hate it when brian goes on tour without me, and that's only a few weeks out of the year at the most. especially living so far from home. take heart and know that we're behind you!
love,
