It was freezing cold on the Morning of Tuesday March 24
th just 2 days before our official 7 month mark. My wonderful friends & faithful fellow USMC wives stood on Victory
field at 2:00am to welcome home Lt. Bass and India Company 3/7!

Kathy
Welch, Jon's Co's wife has been a huge encouragement through this deployment. It was great to finish together. She &
Keegan are moving on the bigger & better USMC adventures after this and we sure will miss them!

Christine & Diana were troopers to wake their little ones in the middle of the night all to show their support. Wow, you really can live through anything as long as you have friends!

Jon turned his cell phone on as soon as he reached US soil & was able to text me updates as they traveled. It was really helpful especially b/c the bus left all the officers &
SNCO's at the armory...Jon said he was just going to run to Victory
Field. Thankfully the bus realized what had happened & went back for the leadership!

At this moment the band was playing, Marine were pouring off the bus & I knew that at any moment he'd be there...

There he is! My Marine...it felt so good to look across the
field and know that he really was standing right there in front of me! Wow, seven months doesn't seem so long once their home.

I lost my shoes in the short sprint across the
field, it was such a rush...it really was over! You feel such an incredible sense of accomplishment knowing that your marriage has weathered a storm like this!

Happy Homecoming!!! Congrats on having him back in your arms!
Margot! I barely know you, but this post made me cry. I cannot imagine what that must feel like--to see your husband after 7 mos of not seeing him. Thanks so much for the sacrifice y'all make. Praying for y'all as you transition back into life together. Love, Maggie I. (Sara Beth's sis-in-law)
